Aquagri Processing Private Limited, established in 2007, is an Indian company focused on aqua-agriculture and the production of seaweed-based products. Originating from a PepsiCo India initiative in 2000, Aquagri took over the sea plant business in 2008, emphasizing sustainable livelihood opportunities for coastal communities. The company cultivates and processes sea plants to create value-added products for industries like food processing, agriculture, and animal husbandry. Aquagri is known for being the first to set up a carrageenan manufacturing facility in India and holds a patent for preserving seaweed nutrition without chemical exposure. With a vision to become a global leader in aqua-agriculture, Aquagri is committed to environmental responsibility and societal benefits. In 2017, IFFCO acquired a 50% shareholding, enhancing Aquagri's capabilities. The company aims to meet the growing demand for carrageenan and establish itself as a reputable South Asian producer. Aquagri generated a revenue of ₹246Cr in the financial year ending March 31, 2023.
