DEMITAS A. S. started its commercial life as the first circuit breaker manufacturer of Turkey in 1970. With the company name of DEMITAS Elektrik Makineleri Imalat Sanayi Anonim Sirketi, It started to manufacture Circuit Breakers with its own brand name by increasing the number of personnel and the production capacity in 1980. Until 1992, DEMITAS manufactured Oil and Gas breakers, and in 1992, it started to manufacture SF6 Gas Circuit Breakers. In 1999, DEMITAS increased its production capacity to 3000 pieces a year by adding new machines to its machine park and constructing an additional factory building. In 2003, DEMITAS launched a research and development program to manufacture Vacuum Circuit Breakers and modular cells. In 2005, all Vacuum Circuit Breakers tests for ICE standards were completed successfully. In 2006 DEMITAS started to sell Vacuum Circuit Breakers and modular cells. DEMITAS, which continuously increases its amount of investment in electric power sector and enhances its variety of products, fulfills all its responsibilities to help quality power distribution in Turkey. DEMITAS developed its own methods of production management with its national and international standards certificates. In 1994, it launched the ISO9000 program and in 2003, it received certificate for ISO9002 quality management standards from Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) . In 2003, the company received ISO14000 Environmental Management Standards and ISO9002: 2000 Quality Management System certificates. Demitas which aims to make quality production and offer quality service to its customers, applies Quality Management Systems to all its departments.
