NVG is founded on the basis of reorganization of Kunming Institute of Physics, Kunming North Infrared Technology Co., Ltd., Yunnan North Optical Electronic Instrument Co., Ltd. and North Night Vision Technology Co., Ltd.

NVG registered a fund up to RMB 2.5 billion Yuan with around 3200 employees and the head office of NVG is located in the former office building of KIP with a branch office in Beijing. NVG specializes in 7 major business sectors: IR detector, night vision image intensifier, IR thermal imager, night vision device, optical manufacture, precision machinery, OLED displayer.
