POSREC, one of the major affiliates of POSCO, is a leading manufacturer of refractories, and a construction and maintenance company for industrial furnaces, as well as being a company that specializes in environmental business. Since the establishment of the company in 1963, POSREC has been a leader in the totally undeveloped domestic refractory industry field, and has supplied a variety of refractories to POSCO from our Pohang factory, which was constructed along with POSCO&＃39;s Pohang Steel Mill. POSREC also successfully completed the repair and maintenance works for the old plant facilities of the Pohang and Gwangyang Steel Mills, and we are proud of what we have contributed to the smooth running of POSCO, which is a key national enterprise.We manufacture refractories of superior quality that have been exported to countries such as Japan, Australia and China as well as being used in major domestic steel, cement and glass industries. With our technology and experience in regenerative furnaces - which has been fully recognized by POSCO - we have built industrial furnaces not only domestically but even in Ghana, in Africa.Since 1990, our company has expanded its business into the environmental sector, for example in environmental chemicals and facilities, and has achieved significant success. POSREC has outstripped all its other competitors in the sector, with environmental chemical products such as SUMAG, GUNMAG, HIWATRAMAG, and MAGVITA; these also include SEFREMA, an excellent chemical for use against Red Tide, which is a seriously damaging marine disaster that we experience every year, and environmental facilities such as Ash Melting Furnaces and Flue-gas Desulfurization facilities, which are generally agreed to be core environmental technologies.
